About Digital Abrasion Tester
DESCRIPTION:
Abrasion Tester is designed to determine the wear and durability of paper and board, ceramics, plastic, textile, rubber, flooring, and painted lacquered and electroplated surfaces. Electrically driven with predetermined digital cycle counter selections between 1 to 99,999.Abrasion tester consists of a horizontal turntable with a centre clamp, upon which the specimen is attached, and two weighted parallel arms, each carrying a special abrasive-embedded rubber wheel, freely rotating on a ball-bearing horizontal spindle, and each resting on the specimen with known dead-weight load and an adjustable vacuum system for debris removal.
Test Description:
The weighted sample is placed in the sample holder. The abrasion wheels are put on it and loaded with a certain weight. After pressing start, the turn table begins to rotate whereby a weight loss occurs due to the abrasion. The instrument stops automatically after a preset number of revolutions. The sample is taken out, cleaned with a soft brush and weighed. The result is the calculated weight loss per hundred revolutions.
